The three-jaw chuck has three jaws that move simultaneously and automatically center the workpiece, making it suitable for clamping round workpieces. In order to be as compatible as possible with workpieces in different diameters, the chuck is generally equipped with a set of forward jaws and a set of reverse jaws to expand the clamping range. Three-jaw chucks are mostly used in turning and 4-axis machining.
After installing a adapter plate at the bottom of the chuck and installing pull studs with an industry standard spacing of 52x52mm or 96x96mm at the bottom of the adapter plate, the three-jaw chuck can be quickly positioned on the low profile zero-point quick-change base plate. This significantly reduces the time required for tooling setup and replacement, quickly and effectively improving the production efficiency of the machine tools.
